Jerry is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned his Master of Social Work in 2017, and has since obtained various Experiential Therapy Certifications and Psychodrama education that helps us step into the shoes of our family systems by role playing, acting out scenarios, and using dramatic action. It improves self-awareness, fosters empathy, strengthens relationships, and helps resolve past conflicts or grief. He brings prior experience as a wilderness field therapist, where he witnessed firsthand how the right balance of support, structure, and challenge can help youth make meaningful and lasting changes.
Jerry specializes in working with youth struggling with trauma, attachment wounds, neurodivergence, and emotional regulation. His approach blends experiential and brain based strategies that help youth build focus, resilience, and greater confidence in themselves.
He also incorporates neuromeditation, a form of neurofeedback mixed with meditation strategies This structured neuromeditation experience provides real time feedback to help youth strengthen attention, improve regulation, and experience success in ways that feel motivating rather than frustrating for the overactive brain that otherwise doesn’t tolerate traditional mindfulness skill development. All of these therapeutic approaches are designed for youth who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or discouraged by traditional CBT approaches. While neurofeedback is often clinically applied, neuromeditation gives practical regulation and mindfulness skills that can be used long after treatment ends.
Before becoming a therapist, Jerry served as an EMT(former) and federal wildland firefighter, and found his own healing traveling the rocky mountains. These experiences continue to shape his calm presence and his belief that growth happens when youth feel grounded with others and are appropriately challenged. Jerry focuses on helping youth develop insight, wisdom, and inner ownership of their growth rather than pushing change from the outside in.
Outside of his clinical work, Jerry enjoys traveling and learning from different cultures. He hosts international exchange students and especially enjoys time in Spain, Colombia, Haiti, and Puerto Rico. His goal is to eventually visit every country in the Caribbean. He grew up on the wide open prairies of South Dakota and continues to find calm in the sound of windswept grass and spring prairie thunderstorms.
