We can assure you and all of our clients that safety is our top priority. Our primary responsibility is to ensure the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of our clients at all times. Higher order change can only occur when a person is not concerned for their immediate safety. This is one of countless reasons that Elements is not a boot camp, and we do  not employ any form of deprivation as a means to force compliance. Of all the research we have investigated and performed, the idea of breaking clients down to build them up has been disproven time and again.

We treat our clients with respect, dignity, and genuine care. We recognize that clients are in a vulnerable position (as they are in any treatment, hospital, or care setting), and therefore, we actively work to create a culture of accountability, ethics, and communication amongst our staff. Additionally, we have a grievance procedure for clients to communicate their concerns directly to Senior Management and Elements’ owners. Our clients also have the opportunity every week to send confidential letters to their families.

Beyond our mandatory state licensure, we voluntarily gained (and maintain) accreditation through the Association of Experiential Education. This accreditation affirms that we are following best practices in risk management, program quality, and client care for outdoor therapy programs. We believe in the value of regulation for programs like ours. We diligently follow all of our state licensing mandates, and we would welcome national regulation, if Congress decided to pass such laws.

Moreover, we at Elements track and submit all our safety data to the Outdoor Behavioral Health Council, where it is compared with data on incidents in various  and are proud.
