Elements provides a supportive and nurturing work environment with the opportunity to develop and grow your confidence and skill set. We value our employees and provide the training and resources they need to succeed in their present (and future) careers. Our workplace culture values assertive communication and giving (and receiving) feedback. In other words, this is a workplace rich with learning and you will grow both professionally as well as personally. After all, the best place to achieve this is to work in outdoor therapy!
We are looking for outdoorsy people that love working with youth and enjoy spending most of your time outdoors! Most importantly, you will thrive in this position if you have a strong desire to learn and grow and become part of the team to make a positive impact with the youth/young adults in our program. Outdoor therapy is evidenced-based and shows true results that are life changing. Have your ‘desk’ be the wilderness!
For any questions or concerns about the Field Mentor position, please do not hesitate to reach out! You can reach Lisa our Recruitment Manager via text at 385.789.7377 or email at [email protected]
Elements’ incorporates Adventure Programming to complement our strong therapeutic foundation. We believe AP provides a unique experience for clients during their wilderness therapy experience. The challenge of activities including rock climbing, rappelling, canyoneering, fly fishing, stand-up paddle boarding and low ropes courses can provide a host of powerful teaching opportunities. Some groups have experienced mountain biking, rafting and cross-country skiing. Positive outcomes include increases in self-confidence, self-efficacy, problem solving skills, effective communication, self-awareness, trust, and developing healthy coping strategies.
In the short-term, we are not currently hiring for Adventure Programming Instructor; however, we would like to speak with you if this sounds like a job for you! This is a full-time HYBRID position, which means the instructor will alternate between a Field Mentor shift and an AP Instructor shift. Click here for a full job description. Although, if you have a background in climbing, starting as an outdoor therapy guide first is a great way to learn the job and integrate yourself into other growth positions in the company.
We are always open to hear from those eager to become a wilderness therapist. Subsequently, we are not currently hiring; however, we like to continue the conversation with those interested in outdoor therapy. Please send your resume to Tara Stireman at [email protected].
